Am I bipolar?

When you get happy, you get really happy….and when you’re down, nothing and nobody can cheer you up.

You’ve read up on loads of literature and you know that what you have isn’t exactly normal.

But you don’t fit nicely into any of the boxes either.

Sometimes you feel so low that suicide seems a viable option.

You can’t drag yourself out of bed let alone leave the house. You wonder if you’ll ever smile again.

You’re absolutely certain that what you feel during those weeks and sometimes months is depression. In fact, it’s major depression.

So according to what you’ve come across, that other side of you should be off the charts happy, spending money and having sex with reckless abandon.

But you’re not like that.

Sure, you get happy and energetic, but in a positive way. You have great ideas and you have the energy to carry them out.

You basically feel like a souped up version of yourself – better!

Surely if you had bipolar then you wouldn’t be able to be so productive?

Think again, a thorough bipolar test may reveal that what you have might well be bipolar 2. Sufferers of bipolar 2 don’t get full blown mania but a less intense form called hypomania.
